I couldn't choose between the 2【2つの中から1つを選ぶ】. Then I bought both of them.

The 1st one features the thick side frame which varies in color【違う色をしている】. And it's translucent【半透明】 so that we can see the center core of the side frame. I also like scooped out【えぐり出された】 part of the sides of glasses. It's characteristic. I named it "new ultlaman-seven".









And the other one features the monochrome frame. The outside of the frame is black, and the inside is white. There is small skull and crossbones【ﾄﾞｸﾛ】 on the only left side frame. I named it "sophist".







Mmmmmmmmmmmm...

building constructions that are indistinguishable on the surface【外見からは】

① timber construction【木造】--- a house

(1) conventional method of construction【在来工法】 (framework method【軸組工法】) = ancient Japanese【日本古来の】
壁、そこに貼られたcloth壁紙。内的世界の壁は石膏、外的世界の壁はｺﾝｸﾘｰﾄ系。内外壁間は等間隔に軸を配置する。その軸断面は四角枠ﾗｰﾒﾝ構造に各頂点間を結ぶ筋違（すじかい）配置であり、ﾋﾟﾝ接ﾄﾗｽを作ることで各方向の引張と圧縮のみ受け持つ構造（曲げ荷重をﾋﾟﾝ回転で逃がす-実際には回らないが-）を作る。軸なき部分は中空若しくは防音断熱材（ｶﾞﾗｽ繊維）を設ける。かつては土を入れていた。

(2) 2X4【枠組壁工法】 = from Europe
内壁は(1)に同じく石膏+cloth、外壁を合板木壁とする。内外壁間軸に2X4"の木軸を用い30cm間隔に配置、軸間は(1)と同様。

② steal beam【鉄骨】--- low-rise building【低層ﾋﾞﾙ】
角材やH鋼でﾗｰﾒﾝ構造（水平はり+垂直柱X2）を作り、ｺﾝｸﾘｰﾄ系で壁を作る。壁は力を受け持たない。（cf. 窓枠と窓の関係） この構造は火に弱く火事の際にﾗｰﾒﾝ構造部がﾌﾆｬﾌﾆｬになる為、かつては構造材をｱｽﾍﾞｽﾄで覆っていた。現在では代替ｱｽﾍﾞｽﾄを使用。

③ reinforced concrete【鉄筋ｺﾝｸﾘｰﾄ】--- high-rise buildng【高層ﾋﾞﾙ】
鉄筋（細長い丸鋼）を縦横に走らせた構造部にｺﾝｸﾘｰﾄを打ち込む。ｺﾝｸﾘｰﾄ=砂利+ﾓﾙﾀﾙ。ﾓﾙﾀﾙ=水+ｾﾒﾝﾄ+砂。

① 剛接・・・実際にはほとんどこれ。強い接合で各荷重を受け持つ。
② ﾋﾟﾝ・・・ﾋﾞｽにより回転で曲げ荷重を逃がす。
③ ﾛｰﾗｰ・・・②+車輪回転によるもう一方向の逃げ。実際にはあまりないが計算上わかりやすくする為。

- Geothermal generation looks more rational than PV (photovoltaics)【太陽光発電】. If the government put their mind to【やる気になれば】 geo, it could be a more practical and lasting【永続的な】 measure in 10 years. This will be the key of this year for me.

- I made big three dragons on new year Mah-jong. I have a feeling that something good is going to happen this new year. Mah-jong is really intimate【奥深い】. "We cannot play this game if I

If I campare it to something【例えるなら】, it will be live-action【実写】 Miyazaki Hayao + Science + America. 3D was surprising. It's worth while seeing this movie at the theater. Amazing.

C-X is next trasport aircraft for SDF(Self-Defence Forces) in Japan. "C" means "Cargo". I came to do【することになった】 tech support for static strength test of C-X in Kakamigahara JASDF(Japan Air Self-Defence Force) Airbase, Gifu Prefecture. That brings back some memories【懐かしい】. In fact, I used to live in Kakamigahara when I was a technical school student and it's much closer to my hometown Nagoya than Utsunomiya. That's why I don't feel like it's business trip but I feel like it's return. My stay will be for a couple of months.

throughout the 7 songs
- The sounds of PAISTE are very nice. This choice was correct, I think.
- After the repeat, it occasionally gets slower. It would rather be a little faster toward the close of the song by contraries.

Livin' On A Prayer
- The part of beating base drum twice is delayed because of too much care.
- After the main part, fill-in flip-flops【ﾊﾞﾀつく】. Drum firmly.
- It's better to play up to the end without hesitation.

Born To Be My Baby
- Be faster a little bit. Same as the 1st song, play up to the end without hesitation.

Lay Your Hands On Me
- On the part of riff, don't concentrate on hi-hat but bass drum.

You Give Love A Bad Name
- Be slower than the 1st & 2nd songs. (feeling)

Always
- This is a ballade. Don't be sharp but drum drowsily【気だるく、眠たげに】.

Runaway
- Same as the 1st & 2nd songs.

I beat out【叩く、鳴らす】 6 or 7 typical【代表的な】 20" china cymbals. My impression is... 【感想は】

1. Zildjian(US)... Hard sound more than I expected. They might be suitable for power drummers.
2. Sabian(Canada)... Unassuming【でしゃばらない、控え目な】. I think they are averaged of these 3 makers.
3. Paiste(Switzerland)...When I beat this model, I said "This is it." I think this is the best for me. So, bought it.

For a week now【もう一週間】, I haven't kind of felt well with a touch of cold【風邪気味】. Autumn was drawing near【時が近付く】 for one thing【一つの理由として】, or perhaps it was on account of... --- Adapted【改作】 from "HEAR THE WIND SING"

It's easy to catch cold at the turn of the season【季節の変わり目】. Although I was absent from the practice of PRESENCE, I got better and better on Sunday. So, I went to the movie theater to watch the last installment of "20th Century Boy" trilogy【三部作の最終章】.

It was, in a sense, very Japanese【日本らしい】 and cartoony movie, and makes me think about Aum Shinrikyo-related cases and time cupsule that remains buried under the ground of my elementary school. When is it supposed to be dug out? Dear YADA elementary school.

We decided to participate in MIYA JAZZ INN 2009. On Oct 31st, our performance will start at 13:15. Let's enjoy BON JOVI at the roof【屋上】 of TOBU UTSUNOMIYA.

On the 1st morning, I went to Saint Marc Cafe in Suidobashi. But, they didn't sell MATCHA CRO anymore. When I got to the university, I chose the center desk in the 8th row【前から8番目の真ん中の席】 for some reason【何となく】 as usual. Then Fukuoka-san came and sat next to me. It was since spring schooling that we met. And I found UKEA at the back. It was just 1 year since we've met last. And, also came acorss some Gatsbys such as Tequila-san, Master Miyake, Hisae-san, Niigata-san, Yamagata-san, and new Gatsbys like a high-spirited【ﾊｲﾃﾝｼｮﾝ】 girl (I can't recall her name for the life of me【どうしても】), Miho, a woman from the mouse country in Florida, Hong Konger, and so forth.





Tequila-san : I will apply for re-admission【再入学】 to Japanese Literature after graduation.

It sort of surprised me. He went on,
"If I graduated, my life would be boring....."
"Do you want to be a writer?
"I wanna be. Don't you? I thought all English Literature students wanna be."
I used to think so, but my aim was simply to understand English itself as much as possible while I'm in Japan. But, I also asked myself, "where has one's old self【かつての自分】 gone?" The green light is only on the actual side.

F. Scott Fitzgerald : And as I sat there brooding on【考え込む（卵を抱くより）】 the old, unknown world, I thought of Gatsby's wonder when he first picked out the green light at the end of Daisy's dock.





UKEA took it, but kind of low-resolution【低解像度】 _-;). We went to Ocha-no-mizu to buy a cowbell and then Asakusa for some crazy stuff. I also bought aluminum chimes.





Then, went to the tavern. Saury【秋刀魚】 was dissected【解剖される】 there. It could have been also a sort of "GROTESQUE" by Anderson.





At the last night, I drank with Kikuchi-san, Mayumi, Mio and Kitaro at AKI HOUSE. Kitaro was terrible. Mio introduced us her new boyfriend. He was a nice guy from Senegal. He gave me a hunting cap.





These are part of my summer vacations '09. See you next year, guys.

On the day before Nichi-dai summer intensive starts, I stayed at Ryu & Mary Ann's new apartment in Shin Maruko. We went to the Tama River in the evening and barbecued with their friends of Tokyo American Club over listening U.S. 80s on Ryu's i-pod.

They looked after a cute dog while his master are back in U.S. The dog's name is SUMO. He came inside my futon at the midnight and slept well.

Thanks to Ryu, I got free BBC channel thru HAYAG. I often watch it nowadays. And, I miss SUMO.

From July 25th thru 28th, my company was supposed to be closed and I was planning to go back to my hometown Nagoya and, in fact, had an appointment to play some songs of Asian Kung-fu Generation with Umezu brothers at a studio in Aichi. But, the condition of the work had changed. It might go to holiday work【休日出勤】. And I had to call off the entire schedule.

Instead, I made a reservation for overnight【一泊】 at pension Raspberry Farm in Nasu Highlands. It's not far from Utsunomiya to Nasu Highlands and the price of one-night was reasonable. It was less than 10,000 yen including the dinner course of Sirloin Steak & Lobster, all-you-can-eat cakes and beakfast on the next morning. Also, appetizers were very good & fresh.







And hired out【貸切】 Jacuzzi.







And individual rock bath【岩風呂】.







I will come again.

Yoshi Nomura who was stationed【駐在した】 in Boeing for 3 years finally came back to Japan. So, former 777 Freighter members were gathered together for his comeback celebration. Somebody called there outlying【場末の】 Chinise restaurant. Since Shigeki came all the way from Aichi prefecture, I lodged him for the night【一晩泊める】. I like these members.

- YMGC-san was absent, so that we played the songs without lead singer.
- There is actually one song that has annoyed me. It's "RUNAWAY". It has no punch【迫力がない】. Then, AKT-san proposed 8 beats to a bar【小節】 instead of 4 beats in the original song. I see. After recovering from my wrist hurt, I will try.
- TKHR-san suggested to join MIYA JAZZ INN 2009. We nodded and left it up to him【お任せする】 to apply.
